Our Story​

Located at 809 Williamson St., Ama is the latest venture from Rajan Pradhan, named in honor of his mother, Bishnu Pradhan. “Ama,” meaning “mother” in Nepali, pays tribute to her legacy—she founded Himal Chuli, Madison’s first Nepali restaurant, on State Street over 30 years ago. After caring for her in her final years, Pradhan now continues her tradition of bringing authentic Nepali flavors to the community.
